PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT PADA KETERSEDIAAN ELEMEN PERABOT JALAN DI KORIDOR JALAN MONUMEN LORI – SIMPANG RAJA BALI, KAWASAN KAYUTANGAN HERITAGE, KOTA MALANG

Abstract

Malang is a city which has a wealth of historical buildings, including the preservation of colonial buildings. Economic activities on various roads in Malang City continue to change and develop, one of which is activity on tourist areas preserving colonial  buildings, including along the Lori Monument area to Simpang Raja Bali. In Kayutangan Heritage area, we still see rows of Dutch colonial houses among narrow streets (0.5 to 2 meters wide). This research aims to identify public perceptions regarding the availability of Road Furniture Elements in the road corridor in the Lori Monument to Simpang Raja Bali area. This research uses a rationalistic approach and descriptive approach which use 3 (three) variables, namely safety, enjoyment and comfort. Based on the results of a questionnaire with respondents from the community who cross this road corridor, the safety variable concluded that although the pedestrian way facilities have a fairly good status, this road already provides safety for perestrians; the fun variable shows that this area attracts local people with various activities, aesthetic buildings and various cafes which have unique and interesting themes. The comfort variable shows that the supporting facilities on the pedestrian way are complete and support comfort when walking. Based on research and results, we conclude that the level of comfort, safety, and enjoyment in the Kayutangan area of the Lori Monument – Simpang Raja Bali is sufficient.
