PERANAN FORUM KERUKUNAN UMAT BERAGAMA (FKUB) DALAM PENYELESAIAN KONFLIK ANTAR UMAT BERAGAMA TENTANG PENDIRIAN GEREJA MAWAR SHARON DI KOTA MALANG

Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) to know the forms of conflict between religious communities in Malang City, (2) to know the process of conflict resolution between religious communities in Malang City, (3) to know the FKUB program to support conflict resolution between religious communities in Malang City, (4) knowing the obstacles faced by FKUB in resolving conflicts between religious communities in Malang City, and (5) knowing the efforts of FKUB Malang in dealing with obstacles. This research uses a qualitative research approach with descriptive research type. The results showed that the first form of conflict between religious communities in the city of Malang was the dispute over the establishment of the synagogue of the Mawar Sharon Church in Sukoharjo Subdistrict, Malang. Second, conflict resolution among religious communities is carried out through several processes, Third, in supporting conflict resolution and maintaining harmony between religions in Malang FKUB has a program. Fourth, in carrying out the role of FKUB Malang City faced various obstacles, namely, (1) lack of understanding of the people involved in the conflict over the role and function of  FKUB, (2) the emergence of negative assumptions from the community who considered that FKUB Malang as an institution that invited the community to converted to certain religions, (3) FKUB internal human resources who have not been able to work fully. Fifth, the effort of Malang City FKUB in dealing with these obstacles is to use a communicative and persuasive approach, as well as promoting dialogue, so that FKUB becomes a bridge from the community to channel their aspirations.
