Abstract

Malang City has grown to metropolitan city. Development in the aspect of social life brings the consequence of the coming wave of the mobilization of the period, namely urbanization, toward the city of Malang. Education and economics are dominant factors that are widely used as the reason urban people choose Malang as an urbanization destination. Urbanization in the city of Malang that in fact leads to a surge in the number of people who automatically build a social life komplesitas in Malang. One of the complexities of social life in  Malang is the development of various night life or night activities in Malang. The nightlife of Malang City is more characterized by entertainment activities. This study aims to determine the social life of the night in the city of Malang. Furthermore, this research is directed by using qualitative method with descriptive study approach. Qualitative descriptive method is used to analyze the night social life in Malang city. The descriptive study approach is chosen to understand the meaning of an event and its interconnections deeper in accordance with the apparent facts. Pubs, discotic cafes, karaoke, dim store, prostitution, night art in Malang are the sides studied in this research. each place has its own work system and market share, but the majority all involve students as target objects. The development of various social activities at night in Malang give negative impact and positive effect. Negative impacts are causing promiscuity that violates norms, drug use, alcohol drinking and other disorders of kamtibmas. Positive impact is able to increase income for society Malang City
