The poor city has creative economic potential that includes, advertising, architecture, art, craft, design, fashion, video, film and photography market, interactive games, Music, performing arts, publishing and printing, computer and software services, television and radio, research and development, and culinary. This potential becomes an exciting opportunity with the condition of Malang city which is a city of education and tourist destination. This study aims to describe the growth and strategic development of creative economy of the poor city. This study was studied from various sources and survey on several business actors then
analyzed using Swot analysis. The result of the analysis stated that the creative economic growth of Malang city is relatively stable. This needs to be developed gradually and continuously improved.
