POTENSI CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) UNTUK PEMBANGUNAN KOTA MALANG

Abstract

The company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program is the embodiment of sustainable development in the region that can help overcome community social problems through corporate concern for the community in the form of community social empowerment programs and environmental conservation. The purpose of this research is to map the potential of existing companies in Malang City based on CSR programs run. Research design is qualitative with a case study approach. The research site were companies in Malang City, selected 33 companies with retail business, property, hospital, BUMD, College, Banking and Cigarette Factory. Data analysis uses a descriptive narrative approach. The results showed that the implementation of CSR programs by companies in Malang City was realized in five areas, namely the social sector of poverty alleviation by 31%; environmental facilities/infrastructure by 20%, education and human resource development by 19%; health sector 16%; and the MSME sector by 14%. If based on business scale, then the largest percentage is with the number of large businesses, namely with a turnover of > Rp. 50,000,000,000, while the smallest portion is the category of companies (with a turnover of < Rp. 300,000,000). Based on the results of the study, it can be said that the implementation of CSR in Malang City has been carried out in a significant amount. In the future, strengthening the synergy between the government and the private sector is expected to increase the potential amount of CSR funds for development in Malang City
